If you are interested in making even a small contribution to the conservation work of the Friends of Flass Vale then we are sure you will enjoy some of the events listed below. We look forward to seeing you! Please check for updates as dates do occassionly change.
 
Programme for 2011
 
  • Sunday January 23rd at 11 am: Tree planting and Hedge Laying

    Assemble at Orchard near Flass Cottage
 
  • Sunday February 6th at 2.30 pm: 1 hour working in the Vale

    Meet at the bench on the Kingslodge path.
 
  • Sunday March 6th at 2.30 pm: 1 hour working in the Vale

    Meet at the bench on the Kingslodge path.
 
  • Saturday March 19th 11am - 3pm: Fruit tree grafting course (£10 deposit/total £30)

    At the orchard and church hall.
 
  • Sunday April 3rd at 2.30 pm: 1 hour working in the Vale

    Meet at the bench on the Kingslodge path.
 
  • Sunday May 1st at 2.30 pm: 1 hour working in the Vale

    Meet at the bench on the Kingslodge path.
 
  • Saturday 7th May 10 - 12.30 am Coffee morning (Waddington Street UR Church Hall).

    A coffee morning to raise funds for the Flass Vale Local Nature reserve

    Coffee/Tea & Hot Scones, - Tombola, - Cake, Plant, - Bric-a-brac & Book Stalls

    LAUNCH OF PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

    We hope to produce another fundraising calendar of Flass Vale photographs

    The photographs will be judged on 5 x 7 (125 x 175mm) prints to be submitted by the photographer.

    Winning photographers will need to supply their images in digital (.jpg) format for the commercial printer's use.

    Name & contact details should be printed on a label attached to the back of each print.

    Photographers chosen will receive a £10 book token & their name credited on the calendar.

    Up to three horizontal (landscape format) photographs, taken in Flass Vale can be submitted.

    Closing date is Saturday 1st October 2011. Winners will be announced at the AGM in November

    We regret we are unable to return any images submitted.

  • Sunday September 4th at 2.30 pm: 1 hour working in the Vale

    Meet at the bench on the Kingslodge path.
 
  • Date to be decided (Kingslodge entrance) - Heritage Open Day.

    A guided walk aroung the vale

    Particularly good for people new to the vale
 
  • Sunday October 2nd at 2.30 pm: 1 hour working in the Vale

    Meet at the bench on the Kingslodge path.
 
  • Sunday November 6th at 2.30 pm: 1 hour working in the Vale

    Meet at the bench on the Kingslodge path.
 
  • FOFV AGM - Provisional date 14th November 7.30pm at Waddington Street URC Church Hall.

    The presenting of annual reports, election of officers and an opportunity for discussion of the Vale.

    Followed by a talk
