This programme of study is accredited by the Council of Educational Evaluation - Accreditation of Cyprus (SEKAP).


The purpose of the course is:

  • To introduce students to the theory and practice of audio visual production and develop their ability of expression and creativity through them.
  • To provide an opportunity of analysis and application of specific and general knowledge from the social sciences, and aesthetic criteria from the fine arts.
  • To help students develop and advance their personality and cultural interests so as to acquire a social responsibility and achieve a successful career within a democratic society.

Advantages for the holders of the Diploma in Audio Visual Communication:

  • Possess an accredited diploma.
  • They are capable and fully qualified in pursuing a successful career within the audiovisual production as producers, editors, camera people etc.
  • Continue and complete either the four year BA Degree in Graphic and Advertising Design (time based pathway) or the BA Degree in Journalism, depending on their chosen electives.
  • Pursue further their studies abroad and be accepted in the 2nd year of relevant BA courses at UK Universities or the 3rd year of studies at USA Universities.

FIT Radio and Television Stations

Fred TV and Radio Frederick which form part of the Institute's resources, serve as training grounds for the students of Audio Visual Communication. These professional outfits provide students with a real working environment for practice.
