How to Make the Most from LinkedIn Company Pages

[tweetmeme] Looking for a powerful, yet inexpensive  marketing tool for your business?  Grab a LinkedIn Company Page. They are free to set up; you just need to have an existing profile on LinkedIn. Now, if you’re wondering what makes a LinkedIn Company Page different from a Facebook Page, the main advantage to LinkedIn is that companies can build their brand by showcasing customer recommendations. Here is a screen shot from Dell’s LinkedIn page:

The benefits of this are tremendous. If someone is looking for your product and service and sees a recommendation from someone in their network – that person will be much more likely to buy from you than they might have otherwise.  Plus, the real power of Company Pages is the fact that LinkedIn members who recommend a product or service on a company profile, will have those recommendations surface on their own personal profiles as well.

Connect LinkedIn to Your Website With Banner-size Images

Another benefit to LinkedIn – especially now that Facebook has gotten rid of its tabs – is the fact that the Company page can feature specific products or services with 3 different banner-size images that link directly to a company’s website.  Here’s an example fro m Liberty Mutual’s Page:

Each of these images takes you to a different page on Liberty Mutual’s website. Note the call to action on each image:  “Join the conversation,” “Learn More,” “Find Out More.”

Company pages also can display YouTube videos for the products or services you’d like featured more prominently than others. In addition, LinkedIn Company Pages can display job openings, new hires and popular profiles of LinkedIn users who are actively in the news, referenced in blogs and other activities within the LinkedIn network.
