Peace&Love meets Japan in Nico Greco’s first music video “My Will To Live”

Nico Greco is an Italian songwriter with a robust passion for vinyl and a distinctive American sound. Listening to his music is like watching sepia-toned pictures of California through the stroboscope of psychedelia. The collaboration between the rocker and Kalifilm began a few months ago, when director Lara Celenza selected two songs from Greco’s first album to be part of Delphina’s OST: “The Parade of the Paper Soldier” and “The Best Place To Live”. Now that he’s about to release his second album “Blue Like Santa Cruz” (Seahorse Recordings, Fridge Italia), he calls on Kalifilm Productions to give further exposure to his musical work.

On 29th August 2010, music video “My Will To Live” premiered on the beach in front of an excited audience of friends and musicians who’ve been following Greco’s career ever since his debut on the indie/underground scene in 2008. The video features Russian actress Natalia Kalinnikova and Italian musicians Claudio Carluccio, Roberto del Vecchio (aka The Last Hour) and Simona Travaglini.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
In order to stay true to the artist’s ‘old school’ nostalgic vibes, I thought of wide landscapes in a Seventies atmosphere. As I was playing with different ideas, I threw in the pot a pinch of Japan: the kanji ‘heiwa’ - meaning ‘peace’. Peace as an ideal of the 70’s evokes the image of peacefulness, the state of contentment Nico achieves by exploring nature, seeking love, cultivating - as the song goes - his will to live.”

Producer Antonio Guidone says he’s satisfied with the whole experience: “Once again, we worked in absolute synergy to achieve greatness on a limited budget. We’re currently on the look for enthusiastic, ambitious bands and songwriters. An amazing video has the power to give your music the attention it deserves.” DoP Giacinto Sirbo adds: “We work on SD no more. We’ve upgraded to Nikon D3S and High Definition. Delphina was our first day at school, My Will To Live is our graduation ceremony.”
