Jemma Sykes is a freelance knitted textile designer
working in gallery, fashion and interiors. She has a London
based design and production studio that specialises in hand,
domestic and dubied knits.
Her diverse portfolio is fuelled by the possibilities
of the knitted stitch and aims to challenge preconceived ideas of
the craft to hopefully inspire.
Graduating from the RCA in 2003 her final collection
was bought by Lanvin and Alexander McQueen. Jemma was also awarded
the prestigious Textprint Prize for knit.
Personal fabric collections are constantly evolving
and have been bought by Ralph Lauren, Chloe, Emanuel Ungaro,
Fuzzi and Etro. Jemma has worked closely with clients from
concept to creation, developing fabrics and innovative garments for
the fashion shows of ; Givenchys haute couture, Julien Macdonald,
Michiko Koshino, Biba, Capara and Butcher Couture.
Jemma's work has been exhibited at the crafts councils
K2tog exhibition 2005, Zandra Rhodes Fashion & Textile Museum
2004, and at Pitti Filati for Lineapui.
Jemma is also a visiting lecturer at numerous
design colleges.

emphasis on creative stitches and these are available now
