JK Rowling’s official website, http://www.jkrowling.com , is a brilliant n very mysterious site, where u can find a LOT of infos on Harry. But travelling around the site can b way too tricky, coz ur gonna feel as if ur in a maze, finding ur way 2 the infos, yet unsuccessful. JKR said that only clever and curious fans of Harry Potter will b able 2 find out everything correctly; but she also said, that wants 2 test the fans’ real passion 4 the book, n “tease the heck out of them while they surf through the site”
We strongly encourage you to enjoy the experience of discovering these little “easter eggs” on your own and suggest that this guide be used as a last resort rather than a first resort.
Order Outline: Go to the “Extra Stuff” Section. Take the pen off the string and drag it over to the blank sheet with the yellow thumbtack. Draw a lightning bolt in the middle of the sheet. Try and keep the pen as steady and centered as possible. It will reveal one of the revisions Jo made when planning Order of the Phoenix. It includes some Chapter Names that were changed as well a few ideas that didn’t make the final draft.
Magical Creatures: Go to the Links area and click on the thin red book on the second shelf, Ancient Runes Made Easy. It reveals some information on several different magical creatures.
Teachers and Hippogriffs: First, go into the “Extra Stuff” Section. Turn the radio off, then on and wait a few seconds. Listen to the announcement telling you to put six drops of red potion followed by three of the green potion on a plant. Now, leave and click on the Eraser Portkey on the desktop. It brings you to the mysterious door. Now, follow the instructions with the potion on the plant. Now you have another scrapbook piece, revealing (around the time of Prisoner of Azkaban) genders of teachers and some attempts for hippogriff names.
Original Synopsis: Go to the Rubbish Bin and move the mug four times in a clockwise circle. When you do that, stop: it forms a circle inside. Now leave and go to the Extra Stuff section, click on the card that says “Circle” with a circle on it. Now you have an original synopsis of Philosopher’s Stone.
The Cell Phone 4: Go to the main page. On the phone, dial “31071965” (which happens to be Jo’s birthday, 7/31/65). Now you have an early (around 1994) draft of Philosopher’s Stone.
Draco’s surname: Go to the Fan Sites page. To the right, click on the small red box five times. It will open. Click the question mark bubble to get the same clue as the phone-dialing one. An early (around 1994) draft of Philosopher’s Stone and information that Draco’s surname used to be “Spungen.”
The Cell Phone: Besides unlocking other hidden surprises, if you stay on the front page long enough, the cell phone in the top left corner will ring. Pick it up by clicking the blue button to see if someone is on the other end!
The Cell Phone 2: Dial 733837 (P-E-E-V-E-S) and you’ll unlock another item for your scrapbook! (Thanks to Lindsay for this secret)
The Cell Phone 3: Dial 62442 (M-A-G-I-C, as mentioned in OoP) and you’ll unlock something for your scrapbook.
The Eraser: In the Extra Stuff section, grab the eraser on the bottom of the bulletin board and move it around the blank paper. Then, double click the small green leaves above the image, and they’ll disappear. On the main page, wait for the spider to crawl on the screen and double click that. In the links section double click the potion bottle on the shelf. Finally, click the feather on the Fan Sites page. Clicking on all of them will add something to the scrapbook! (Thanks to everyone that sent this in!)
The Key: On the Links page, click the book with the question mark on its spine and move it to the left, then grab the key and put it on the chest on the right side of the screen.
The Leaking Pen: Go to the Rubbish Bin area, then double click on the pen to the left of the trash bin. This will crack it in half and make the pen leak ink that will reveal the secret to getting another item added to your scrapbook. The first item you need to click on are the eggs, located on the right side of the Rubbish Bin page. Next, go to the Extra Stuff section and click on the hair seen right under the blank pad of paper. Then finally, head over to the Fan Sites page. Click and drag the empty medal box to the right or left and it will reveal marbles. Click on those and you’ll have a new item added to your scrapbook! (Thanks to all of those who were quick on figuring it out!)
The Light Switch: Click it, and the light turns off. Click it again, and the light turns back on again. Like magic! We’re not sure why she has a light switch on her desk… or tabloids, for that matter. Tsk tsk, Jo!
The 2nd Light Switch: Another light switch can be found in the “Mysterious Door” area, which will turn on the light outside of that oh-so-mysterious room. While it doesn’t reveal any secrets at the present time, maybe one day it will!
The Marble: On the main page, there is a marble located right in between the FAQ portkey and the Welcome notepad. Browse around the site for a moment, then go back to the main page and wait a few minutes until a Mysterious Wind blows through. Click the marble when it starts to swirl and you’ll unlock another goodie in your notebook! (Thanks to everyone who sent this in!)
The Medals: Go to the Fan Sites page, and find the two different medals lying on the main shelf. Pick them up and place them in the empty holders either side of the Fan Site Trophy.
The Radio: In the Extra Stuff section, the radio can be turned on or off to listen to some music while browing the area.

What about the sentence scramble of cut out words on the rubbish bin link? I can’t seem to figure that out. Also, when you’re on that page for a while the pen on the right cracks and a woman cackles at you. Anyone ? Buler?
I also tried entering the numbers (described in the book from the links page) on the cubes on the rubbish bin screen. 31071965 on the phone but it just gives me a check mark on the phone screen. Hmmm???

The rubbish bin words are: “Here you get no ring within, tap five times and I am in”… then go to fan sites and click 5 times of the red box for a nice surprise!
4 u, Tia, if dialing JKR’s b’day gives u a chek mrk on the screen of the phone, then it means that ur akredy done wid that part & that u alredy hav an eraly draft of the Philosopher’s Stone alredy in ur scrapbook. so u dont hav 2 do it all over agn.

You can only open the door in the eraser room when the do not disturb sign is down. I really haven’t been a potter fan long enough to see that happen, but I also heard that is the only time you can take a WOMBAT test. After you take your test they will give you a number which you can check your score with. That is what the WOMBAT card is for.
I left my computer alone and when i came back the pen jar was tipped over on the main screen. Don’t know what it means.

I think that in the sixth book DD drinks the potion snape talks about in the 2 book . You know the one that lets you get hit by the killing curse but not die? Remmber when Harry sees Cedric die with a shocked look on his face? DD didn’t, he just landed on the floor. To prove my therioy, why would DD have brought his knife with him when heand harry went to the cave? Did he Know he was going to have to draw blood? And remmber the fake locet DD found? R.A.B (the person who put the locket there) must have drank the potion. I think DD (Dumbledoor) put that special potin there and he and Snare planed the whole thing(you know whenSnape kills dd) Tell me what you think of my therioy and write your own therioys.

As u have asked 4 my own theory regarding Harry Potter, let me tell u firstly, my HP theories aren’t regarding the death of DD. my theories r reagerding the death of Harry himself. and as 4 ur theories, i must say that they r quite remarkable but lemme remind u of one thing, snape n DD plotting a plan seems a bit unsual 2 think when u go thru Snape’s characters thruout all the 6 books. Besides, Snape’s loyalties r itself controversial.
Next cums about the way u hav linked Cedric’s death with DD’s 1. The potion u r talking abt, lemme tell u 1 thing. Cedric died with a shok on his face, n DD just landed on the floor. there4 , where lies the difference??? the effect of the way a person dies duzn’t resolve the fact tht he isnt actually dead. Cedric was killed directly by the Killing Curse, but did DD???

RAB is Regulus Black…or at least i think. He is dead because he attempted to stop being a Death Eater and was killed by either Voldemort or one of the other Death Eaters. The thing is that he must have been good and was apposing Voldemort as his brother had.

RAB is almost certainly regulus black because when black was translated in the foreign books say in one country it was regulus svart it became RAS and the same is true for many countries

For the pen breaking and the cackle afterward…it’s not a woman cackling, it’s peeves. If you use the time-turner in the room with the door, you will occasionally come across a time when peeves writes on the mirror that he was there. He says “Peeves Woz Here”.

Go to the rubbish bin go to the object in the up-left corner of her desk. when you mouse over it, It spins. Leave the mouse pointer on the object so it wont stop spinning. Leave it on there long enough, soon it will move to reveal something drawn on a memo. Copy what is drawn onto the notepad on the extra stuff page. this will give you a reward
i’m having a bit of trouble keeping the pen steady when drawing the lightening bolt- any advice?
Hold the pen as steady as you can and draw the lightening bolt in the centre. If you go to ‘Links’ and wait for a while – 5mins or so but don’t click on anything, Peeves blows through and will knock over a picture to reveal an example of how should draw it.

i was just on the website and if you go into the rubish bin and lave your mouse on the spinning top in the top left hand corner it moves away to reveal a peice of paper with a ? on it , does any one know wat this is for and also i cannot seem to find the ingredinents for the potions , do they apear at random?
when you click on the earser it brings you to a door well down next to the door there is kind of the date and a picture of a time holder thingy if you click on the lowest handel on it will bring you back in time! like a time turner and you can find more doors and lots more things! also if you click the top one it brings you to a do not disturb sign.
also the womabt thing was, like a test like owls for muggles or whateva the first test you can still do if you have a student idenfication code which is what you enter when you click on the wombat card, but if you didnt get there in time or only found out about the site recently and didnt get the identification code you will have to wait until J.K makes another student code thiny which is when J.K decides so i dont no when you will be able to get another student idenfacation code!

I Found another secret.
Click on the eraser, in the room with the door turn off the lights, then click the bottom handle on the time turner twice, then click the top one once, then you should be able to click on the time turner. When you do, you will fly though time.
where is the wombat card?
Ive found another thing u can do. Go in the room with that door and in the right low corner is that clepsidra thing…click on the handles and get the date at 28/06/04 open the door and u will see a brick wall.Now its a problem doube click on all the bricks and u will see that they dissapear but at one moment they will come back….I dont know what to do here…If u know smth post it here ! THX
