Revlon Matte Lipstick in "Stormy Pink" (Review)

Woo! Second to last part of the first part of the  Quest for Candy Yum Yum . I'm saving the best for last ;) When i saw this lipstick i was sure i had found the perfect match, but as the swatches will reveal, it comes up a little short in the pigment department.

Company Description: I was unable to find a company description so see the "What I Think" below for my best interpretation

What I Think: If my lips weren't terribly chapped some days this lip stick would be a creamy matte dream! This creamy pink color blew my mind when i saw it through the top of the tubes little peep hold. However, this lipstick does not really go on true it is displayed color. It goes on much lighter, but can be built up a bit. The curved tip is a total plus for more precise application. It contours to the shape of your lip to make gliding on this creamy color easy. I love the tick formula because it stops any feathering or bleeding when on your lips.

This was a packaging feature that i really liked on this product. All the tubes were sealed but there is a clear window on the top so you can see the actual color of the lipstick itself, not just those very unhelpful printed swatches on the bottom -__-
There is a very noticeable color difference between flash and no flash. The picture on the left (with flash) is a far more accurate depiction of the color.
For the price you get this much product. Quite fair i think.
Another not really important note is that i loveee the sleek design this comes in. It does have a matte finish on the tube but it glides like no other! So if tube quality is a factor to you, this is on my top five.
This has been used a few times (bad blogger, bad, not taking pictures before you use a product!) But you can still see the defined cure in the tip of this lipstick. I really like the shape because it wraps around your lip when your putting it on.
This was a bit difficult to swatch on my arm, and i actually wore down the curve doing so >.<

No Flash
So this color goes on much lighter then what i wanted. Where it is still a very preety soft matte pink i wanted a little more intensity This is also about seven coats on my lips so i had to apply quite a bit to get the pigmentation i wanted.
HOWEVER!
I Really really like this lipstick because it is kiss proof, food proof, and nearly paper proof.
And the color still perfectly remained after this test.

Price: $4.97 at Walmart

Worth it?:YES! Super reasonable price, even a little on the cheaper side. I think this is an amazing matte buy. I would like the formula to maybe be a little more moist so that it kinda helps out my lips a bit, but the finish on this lipstick is unparalleled. I think this is defiantly worth the price

Will I Buy It Again?: Yes, i look very forward to getting some more of these. Any color suggestions?!

  1. Oooh! Super pretty! Love it!! I'm sooooo loving mattes lately!!! Oh, and I did buy a pretty awesome matte the other day! NYX Soft Matte Cream in Addis Ababa! It is a pretty awesome matte neon pink! Not sure how close it is to Candy Yum Yum, but my sister said it looked pretty close! Definitely worth checking out at $5.99!

  2. This looks amazing! Maybe a bit too "bubblegum" for me, prolly wouldn't look too good on my pigmented lips lol. But I so want to look into these Revlon matte lippies, as I love the idea of a nice stay-proof matte formula. :)
