Hard Candy Split Personality (Review)

Split Personality - Eye Color Duo in  Psycho
Up close swatches and product pictures after the jump.

So over time i've collect a few different product from Hard Candy. Now that i've gotten to use all of them and have a feel for what i like and don't like about them i thought i'd share. Hard candy products, from what i hear, used to be sold at Sephora but as of late have been taken out of those stores and introduced into Walmart. I've found that this line is generally aimed more toward the teen crowd. However do not let that limit you. I'm eighteen so i'm probably target audience, but that doesn't mean you should miss out if your into bold colors and tons of shimmer and sparkles. The line is affordable, and some products are defiantly a steal for what you get. Hard Candy offers a wide variety of products including categories such as nails, eyes, lips, face, and even body. I'm more into eye makeup then anything so most of the products include in this review will be for the eye.

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Company Description: Feeling Happy? Moody? Wild? Divine? This versatile, dual-ended eye color wand contains smooth, easy to apply, cream eye shadow on both sides (thanks to the built-in applicators). Each shade matches your moods perfectly for color coordinated lids a in a flash! No matter what your personality!

What I Think: When i first saw this product it was super exciting. The application look super easy. When i got it home to try out i was a tad less excited. Each end has a cap with the shadow packed into it. The applicators are on springs so that you can bounce and try to pull color out of the cap. Though this is a really neat idea, its not very effective. I find it hard to pull color out of the cap and onto the applicator.
The colors look promising on the sponge applicator and for the most part deliver a decent color pay off. To me, the colors feel a bit oily. It's hard to describe. They're rather...not moist but oily. Oily is the best word to describe it.

The white color takes a bit more effort to build up. The black on the other hand goes on dark with the first try. They both have a metallic sheen to them, but they have a kind of matte quality to them. They're both pretty opaque so no problem with coverage after taking a while to build. They look fabulous swatched but when applied to the eye, or my eye at least, i found them difficult to build, blend, and or with with at all. They don't play nice with other colors.

Price: $5.60 at Walmart

Worth it?: It's alright for the value, i think i expected a lot more. I was kinda let down once i tried it out.

Will I Buy It Again?: Possibly. It's not all out yet. It may just be this color, or it may just be me. I think this product is really neat and i really want it to work for me.
