I was afraid I was going to read that Rick was in a car accident or something worse. I'm sure no one saw this coming.

Makes me wonder how it even happened, is the government so big brother now that any internet transaction like that one is monitored?

All of us have flaws, so I am not going to rush to judgement. While this is publicly embarassing for Rick, I hope it doesn't cost him his marriage or his business. Without condoning his actions whatsoever, I still hope he comes out of this ok, and a little wiser.

especially with powdr driving half the customers away anyway, killington is a small enough town that business at the basin might be a little slow next year.

Surprising for sure, but that always seems to be the case ... politicians, executives, security experts, child advocates, and now a ski shop owner.

Definitely sad.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to track a person on the net or to flag certain transactions. This particular site may have existed for some time offering illegal photos, but often times when the feds find a site like this, they remove the digital content and leave the site as appearing to be operational and consequently nab unsuspecting users like Rick after they make payment.

Subsequently after the transaction is flagged, it's easy to track down the user, where they live, etc. and execute a search warrant and it's open and close from there.

IMHO, this website may have existed in another country or servers/IP was hosted in another country so ICE gets involved.
