Try a two and a half hour big game experience on an elephant at Camp Jabulani – named after the elephant Jabulani, who was just a year when he became trapped in a mud pool near Phalaborwa. His herd attempted to rescue him but to no avail. Human intervention was called for and Jabulani was rescued. With no place to go, Lente Roode of Kapama Game Reserve took Jabulani in. After a few years the search for a family for Jabulani brought about the merger between Lenta Roode and Rory Hensman’s 12 Elephants from Zimbabwe. All thirteen elephants are now based at Camp Jabulani on Kapama.

Elephant Rides: All the elephants have saddles, which can seat two people. The saddle has a pommel to hold onto and stirrups to support your legs and feet. A maximum of 17 people can be accommodated per elephant back safari.

Recommended dress for the elephant rides is long pants with closed shoes. We suggest taking along a jacket to keep you warm.

Bush walk with breakfast: See the rare King Cheetah. For the bush walk you'll have to be there by 06h00 in the morning. Breakfast is served after the lion walk.

Tshukudu is the Sotho word for Rhino. There are several White Rhino, each individually known to the rangers. Every morning the rangers call into the bush, and an Elephant usually appears to accompany guests on their lion bush walk. An orphan Lion may also tag along until he or she gets too big and bold to play safely.

They also have a very successful Lion breeding programme, which helps other game reserves widen their gene pool. One favourite is a famous black maned male Lion called Shumba, who is something of a movie star. The deep resonance of a revving engine starts him roaring - and this incredible sound almost makes the ground shake around you! Tshukudu also has some wild roaming Lions and various antelope, Warthog, Hyena, Zebra, Wildebeest and Buffalo.

A steady stream of orphan animals are brought here, knowing that they will be cared for and released back into the wild. You never know what stray animals might be wandering around so don't be surprised if a Cheetah purrs around your ankles during breakfast.

Game drives are also available where you will be able to see the Big 5 in the wild.

Enjoy an evening bush braai and experience the bush at night.

Take a Boat Trip and view the spectacular 200 m Kadishi Tufa Waterfall which is one of Africa's largest active tufa falls. On your boat trip you will also feast your eyes on the dam wall and famous Three Rondavels. Taking 1½ hours, this trip is not only a treasure for the senses, but informative as well, the guide telling all about the history of the canyon. Expect to see ferocious crocodiles, hippos, kudus, waterbuck, bushbuck, duikers, baboons, monkeys and maybe even some leopard. Listen out for the achingly beautiful call of the fish eagle while you drink in one of the most beautiful places this country has to offer. In fact, with over 500 birds recorded in this area, this is a choice destination for birders. Here you will spot the brownheaded parrot, purplecrested loerie and its close relative, the Knysna loerie, chorister robin and olive bush shrike, to name a few. Whatever your interests, relaxing on a boat drifting down one of the most amazing rivers in Africa will feed your soul.

The Lowveld, world-famous for its big game, is also home to considerably more than half of the total species of southern African birds. More than 500 such species are found on the flats alone. However, these are augmented by even more specialized bird species from the forests and cliffs along the Drakensberg escarpment, which forms the Lowveld's western boundary. Complementing the Lowveld's exciting mammals, many of the rarest and most beautiful of South African birds are found in Hoedspruit District.

An exciting 3 hour horse riding bush experience. Horse trail through the Balule Game Reserve and down the Olifants River.

18km full day walk in the Blyde Canyon Nature Reserve below the Panorama Route Escarpment.

Klaserie Dam, formerly known as Jan Wassenar Dam, has the best track record for producing big fish of any angling venue anywhere in South Africa. it holds the current South African and Southern Hemisphere record for a carp, standing at 64lb caught in 2001. There have been over 60 captures of 50lb+ fish by visitors to South Africa since 1999, with the number of people catching 40lb fish standing at 128. Klaserie certainly holds its fair share of big fish, many of which still elude capture, but, this is no stock pond and anglers will have to work hard if they are to reap the rewards Klaserie can offer.

This event normally takes place the last or second last weekend of June at Drakensig, the SAAF military base just outside of Hoedspruit. Game auctions are also held on the Thursday.

An introductory 4X4 training program to give the 4X4 owner more experience. Their "One Day Program" is aimed at the new and experienced driver. The course starts with a classroom session where the details of how a 4X4 works, 4x4 driving techniques and vehicle preparation is covered. On the 4x4 tracks a hands on lesson is given on how the various recovery equipment can be used e.g. Hi Lift Jack, Electric Winch etc., following this they accompany you in your vehicle through steep ascent and descent under wet/dry conditions, axle twisting, driving over rough terrain and through mud.
