Hi Everyone,
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Hi All! First a huge THANK YOU to all of you who emailed me and sent comments on my video – you know I was a little embarrassed to send that video out because I really look and feel so different and much better now than just a few years ago when the video was made (I’m about 20 kg thinner for sure)...but I decided to send it anyway because the message is so important! And all I can say is that I am glad I did... your emails are so heartwarming and special... so many of you shared your own stories of struggle and overcoming tremendous odds... of your families and children... wow... I am still reading and rereading some of them! This makes all the hard work I do now worth it... if I can teach you feng shui and other life lessons that make a positive difference... that improve your life in any way... then I have succeeded! Thank you again for taking the time to write to me – I really do appreciate it.
Now a quick story from my trip to Vermont and New York....you’ll enjoy this one! We returned from Vermont to NYC in a limo... yes a great way to travel especially for 8 or 9 people with luggage! We stopped just off the freeway in Springfield, Mass because we were a little hungry and someone directed us to an Italian deli that turned out not to be a deli at all but a grocery store... and despite our hunger we left... it was not what we were looking for. Being unfamiliar with the area we walked outside and looked around. Just then a man approached us that had been in the grocery store too... he said “Just drive a couple of blocks to Frigos... it’s the best deli around and I’ll probably see you because I’m on my way there to buy some cheese now too.” Off we went... to Frigos... a third generation..maybe fourth generation family deli and oh my goodness what a wonderful place! We indulged in various yummy Italian meats, cheeses, salads, fruits...you name it! In fact, we probably all ordered a little too much...but who could resist such temptations? And most of all the people were wonderfully nice and helpful too! Imagine...the owner sliced our pastrami? It was out of this world...there was a set of tables with just the right amount of chairs for our group...everything was perfect! But wait - there’s more to this story...
Remember I told you about the man who directed us to Frigos? Well he arrived shortly after we did and we spotted him buying some cheese – he was quite shy so we didn’t say much except to thank him for the suggestion and he just nodded and went on examining the cheeses in the case. A short time later he came over to our table to say good-bye...and as he was leaving he said: “ I hope you all enjoy the food here....and the rest of your time in America. Oh and by the way...the bill’s been taken care of! He had paid the bill for our entire group... and I promise you for eight of us it wasn’t cheap! He was gone before we could even thank him... a perfect stranger! Some in our group were surprised but actually I was not... because you see things like this happen to me quite frequently! And so to the generous stranger... If you happen to read this... if my ezine makes it’s way to you somehow then a great big thank you from all of us!! Love Lillian P.S. Please check the offer below for a FREE trial subscription to Feng Shui World magazine... so many of you missed out for the July/August issue that Jennifer and I decided to offer this one more time... for those of you who did not take advantage last time...please see below! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Cool Astrology This Year! OK, if you’re like me you’ve probably wondered why your feelings about people can change… you might suddenly begin to dislike someone that has always been a good friend… someone that you liked and loved? Or alternatively, a person that always got on your nerves in the past doesn’t seem to bother you so much now? Although many things affect how we get along with other Chinese astrological signs, a lot of compatibility issues are the result of how the annual energy affects us personally… whether we feel positive and good about ourselves or we’re facing a lot of big problems and challenges. That’s why it’s important for you to know what 2011 bring for you! You see, if we already know how the coming year’s energy will affect not only us but also our family and loved ones, then when differences arise we can be a little more tolerant and forgiving... especially if we know someone we care about is suffering from afflictive energies and negative stars. So it’s really not just about us! It’s a good idea to make a real effort to look carefully at what’s in store for your partner, the different members of your family and even your close friends. Now the place where you will find everything you need to know and prepare yourself and family members for 2011 is in our little Fortune and Feng Shui Annual Astrology books… and by the way they are not so little anymore! We’ve added twenty more pages this year… filled with really cool new info and for the first time you will discover your lunar mansion… your sky animal! Sky Salamander? Sky Dragon? Sky Swallow? Sky Unicorn? Sky Horse? Which are you? There are 28 Sky Animals in all! What makes discovering your lunar mansion so important is that it reveals what sky constellation you belong to…and with this information you can determine the kind of people that you work best with, what line of work offers the most potential for success and most importantly it deepens your understanding of yourself. You’ll not only learn which of the four sky constellations you belong to, but also who your Celestial Guardian is…the Green Dragon of the Eastern skies, the Crimson Phoenix who protects the Southern skies, the Black Tortoise, Lord of the Northern skies or the White Tiger ruling the west. This opens up a whole new realm and you can go much deeper into compatibility analysis…for example anyone belonging to the same constellation is under the same Celestial Guardian …so this is someone you can depend on in times of trouble. And did you know that sky animals also have great affinity with their corresponding Zodiac animal sign …like the Sky Ox works well with someone born in the year of the OX and vice versa…and also with the Ox’s allies the snake and the rooster. Like that, ok? All 12-zodiac signs have a Sky counterpart! And there are Secret Sky Friends too!! Here’s the best part… Sky animals rarely bring obstacles and their effect is generally a positive one…they signify the influence of heaven. If it sounds a bit confusing don’t worry…we explain it all very simply in our books! So, be sure to get your 2011 books now and start to study what’s in store for next year…there’s some good and some bad luck ahead! Learn about the dominant Celestial Guardian for 2011- and what the most powerful image is that you absolutely must invite into your home in 2011! I promise you are going to love this year’s astrology books! Love, P.S. Chanting Mantras… A Story About A Monk & A Hermit When we chant mantras or prayers we usually do so with the motivation of transforming our minds…we chant repeatedly because it takes time for this…it is not instantaneous but a gradual practice. Although most of the Buddhist mantras are chanted in their original Sanskrit, the language of the Buddha, mantras chanted in any language when recited with sincere motivation and concentration are a powerful way to effect mind transformation. Here is a story told to me by my teacher and guru Lama Zopa Rinpoche. A monk visited a hermit, who lived alone on an island doing retreat. The hermit had given himself three years to complete chanting ten million of the powerful six-syllable mantra of the Compassionate Buddha. The hermit had been told that attaining this level of practice would awaken his yogic powers. The mantra was “OM MANI PADME HUM”. The monk listened as the hermit did his mantra and, with the best intention in the world, leaned over to him and whispered: “I think you have got the pronunciation wrong. This mantra should be chanted this way…” and he proceeded to demonstrate. The hermit listened attentively and then watched as the monk walked back to his boat to leave the island. Ten minutes later when the boat was halfway across the river the monk heard his name being called, and looking around, he spied the hermit and heard him call: “Listen to this, have I got it right now?” and the hermit proceeded to chant the same mantra but with the monk’s intonation. Astounded, the monk turned around and saw the hermit walking on the water next to his boat. In that instant he realized that the hermit’s faith and sincerity had given his mantra recitation far more power than he had realized. Getting the intonation correct seemed almost irrelevant.
