Westhope was a Norman burial ground but has now been converted to an orchard for traditional breeds of apples and is usually run as a hay meadow. It is often grazed by Castlemilk Morrits - one of the rarerest breeds of sheep, characterised by their chocolate coloured fleeces.
The chapel, pictured below is Victorian, rebuilt on the foundations of the Norman Private chapel to the manor of Westhope, built after the conquest.
