Nowy Stadion (new stadium) :
The idea of the project was to create a building, which thank to its innovative form, daring and elegant at once, would be easily recognisable as a symbol of dynamically developing "Meeting Place".
The structure consists of reinforced concrete tiered auditorium, steel roofing and rings supporting the external glass fiber net with teflon cover. The external skin of the stadium shields the internal promenade as well as the conference and office space located under the spectator area. This kind of facade gives the impression of lightness and makes the whole building transparent. The proposed lightning technologies enable to change the colour of external illumination to match the character of current event. By changing the colour of illumination it is possible to change the appearance of whole building.
The general arrangement plan is meant to expose the form of the stadium, which should dominate over surrounding space. The stadium stands on a platform, which gently lowers towards the terrain level outside the site. The stadium in its modern and attractive form has been designed to satisfy the requirements of efficient exploitation and maximise the usage flexibility.
Wrocław EURO 2012 stadium fulfills the UEFA requirements for semi-final matches.
