Frances Priest

Born in Wakefield in 1976 Frances Priest began her training in 1994 on a foundation course at Dewsbury College. Under the tuition of David Roberts a fascination for clay quickly developed leading to further studies in the ceramic department of Edinburgh College of Art from 1995 to 1999 gaining a BA Hon. and Pgdip.

Frances exhibits her work internationally. She has won many awards. Her most recent awards are from The Scottish Arts Council for Professional development and The Benno Shotts Award for Promising Young Scottish Sculptor at The Royal Scottish Academy.

Her work is held in many prestigious collections including The Victoria & Albert Museum, London, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, The Royal Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh The Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead, The International Museum of Ceramics, Faenza Italy and The International Museum of Contemporary Ceramics, Ichon Province Korea.
