Our bright and stylish corner apartment situated in Roseburn, is approximately 1/2 mile from the centre of Historic Edinburgh.  Built in the 1890's the apartment is part of a traditional Scottish, stone built, tenement block and has retained much of its character, with original cornices and its slightly off-set rooms.

Our building may be 1890s but our apartment has been fully modernised with gas central heating and radiators in every room.  Located on the first floor, the apartment is accessed via a secure entry-phone system and has been refurbished and decorated to a high standard, with a new kitchen and bathroom (with shower).  The open aspect of the Sitting Room with its sofas and easy chairs provides a relaxing environment - ideal after a hard day sightseeing.
The spacious kitchen houses a dining alcove with table and chairs, and all mod cons are provided (washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, etc).  The double bedroom has full length mirrored wardrobes, the small single bedroom is accessed from the living room and has its own window; these, combined with a sofa bed in the Living Room offer accommodation for four.

Roseburn Place is located one street back from the main thoroughfare to Edinburgh from the West and offers an easy and flat walk or a short bus ride to the city centre for most Festival venues and Historic attractions.  There is free on-street parking but again, guests are advised to leave the car behind if they are visiting the city centre.

Kitchen:  Fully kitted out with double electric oven and 4-ring gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.  Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, cooking utensils and glasses are all provided.
Dining Alcove:  Within the kitchen but separate from the main cooking area, with seating for 4.
Living Room:  A double seater sofa, two sofa beds (with full mattresses) and a single chair ensures comfortable seating for all.  A colour television and video are also provided, so bring a couple of videos if you fancy a quiet night in.
Single Bedroom:  Situated off the living room, with its own window, small but inviting.
Double Bedroom:  A double/twin bed with storage drawers. Double wardrobe with full length mirrored doors.
Bathroom:  With bath and Electric Shower

Beds are already made up with linen and duvets; and towels for every member of the party will be laid out.  All our bedding is hypo-allergenic and there are additional blankets provided should anyone feel the need.

Roseburn and Edinburgh

Roseburn is situated approximately ½ mile from Edinburgh City Centre. Originally, this area was not considered part of the city but existed as a separate village together with the likes of Corstorphine and linked to the city by the then West Edinburgh Train service, unfortunately now long gone. Nowadays, Roseburn is intrinsically part of Edinburgh city but has retained its village roots, with a thriving village style centre – albeit on the main route to and from the West. And although the romantic era of steam trains has passed, the local bus service is frequent and efficient providing quick and easy access to all parts of the city and its various attractions.

Within Roseburn you will find many local amenities, from grocers and newsagents to hairdressers, dressmakers, interior design shops and laundrettes. Combine this with open parkland, some sheltered walks and the area provides a tranquil setting within a bustling city.

Murraryfield Stadium, the home of Scottish Rugby, is just a few minutes walk from the apartment across Roseburn Park, as is our olympic size skating rink which is open all year.  The Water of Leith walkway is approximately 200 metres from the apartment and allows a safe and pleasant walk, or cycle, to the historic Dean Village from where Art Galleries and the West End are quickly accessible, as is the world famous New Town - a World Heritage Site.

Leaving the New Town it is a short walk to the Old Town, which has much of historical and architectural interest, dominated by Edinburgh Castle (a Must See) and terminated by the Royal Palace of Holyrood which is also the site for the new Scottish Parliament (a somewhat controversial building!).

Travelling West, (by public transport) Edinburgh Zoo is quickly reached and is world famous for both its animal breeding/conservation role and its penguin colony with the daily parade during the summer.  Ask Lesley at the Penguins about her recent trip to meet the penguins of the Falkland Islands!

There are plenty local restaurants as well as theatres and cinemas and all are readily accessible by bus.
