I Went To Maximiliano’s! Your Turn!

A couple of times a week I pass a store on West High Street that has a brightly painted sign that says Maximiliano’s Mexican Food.  I drive by at about 9 in the morning.  Maybe it’s just me but  I’m really not in the mood for Mexican food that early, at least not the traditional Frijoles and Nachos.  Anyhow, I have been looking at that place and wondering about what their food was like.

Then  I saw an article over at Positively Pottstown.  One of their  guest writers had gone to the restaurant and they bragged about how fresh and delicious the food was.  Also, they said if you mentioned that you saw their article in Positively Pottstown then you could get a free  order of Sopapillas,  Hmm, I wasn’t really sure about what they even were but it sounded tasty!

Tonight I didn’t have anything prepared for dinner.  I had forgotten to defrost the chicken and it was late by the time I was headed  home and I had to pick up my kid from play practice after school…so I thought about that 20 dollar family dinner over at Maximiliano’s.  I made up my mind!  I was going to find out what sopapillas were!  I asked my daughter if she minded heading over to Stowe and of course once I told her why she was all for it.  So we went.

I got ten chicken tacos, nachos with a really spicy salsa, some cheese quesadillas and of course the desert which was torillas fried in oil and smothered in honey.  They sort of reminded me of funnel cakes!

I know I was bragging the other day about making most of my food at home and that is true- but tonight it was fun to go somewhere new.  It was great to bring home something special and something we haven’t had lately.

The owners of the restaurant are Eve and Maximiliano and Eve says she likes that it’s just a Mom and Pop type restaurant.  She was the designer for the place and it is lovely.

I’d love you to stop by there.  There aren’t enough delightful little places tucked around town!  I’m so glad that Eve and Max have created their dreamy little place in Stowe!  Now it’s your turn to please go and visit them.  Just make sure you stop over at Positively Pottstown first to read all about it!

I borrowed this from their recent post-

Maximiliano’s is offering up free sopapillas to anyone who mentions this blog. Just say you heard about them on Positively!Pottstown to receive this yummy dessert on the house.
