My website will contain stories and pictures that I have written to share.

Once upon a time there was a silver thrush called Silvia. She was dashing backwards and forwards, trying to find sticks and twigs to make herself a nest, before she had some eggs to look after. Silvia was tired and weary when she had finished her nest. She had decorated the nest with flowers and leafs, and it looked very pretty. When Silvia’s husband Singer came back that night, he admired it.

Singer slept very well, but Silvia didn’t. She was wondering about when the eggs would come. Silvia hoped the eggs wouldn’t come in the middle of the night! But the eggs did. They kept poor Silvia awake, and in the end, she woke up Singer, who was pleased to know the eggs were coming, but was sad to hear that Silvia wasn’t sleeping well.

Singer helped Silvia into a comfortable position, and then they waited. Half an hour later, Silvia started to squeeze. “The eggs are coming! The eggs are coming!” chirped Singer happily.

“They certainly are!” gasped Silvia, as a creamy white egg appeared in the nest. Several more appeared and Singer found it hard to sit down! The eggs were quite big, and they filled most of the nest. Singer and Silvia had to sit on the eggs to stay in the nest. Otherwise they’d just topple out!

Next morning Singer woke early to the sound of ‘cheep, cheep!’ He peered around him. The eggs had hatched! Singer patted Silvia gently and chirped loudly. Silvia woke up at once and Singer told her what had happened, and when he had told the whole story, Silvia said, “Please go and find me some worms.”

Singer flew down to the bottom of the tree, and pecked the ground. A worm wriggled out. Singer took it in his beak and flew to where Silvia was waiting. Silvia gave it to the chick she had named ‘Beaky.’ Singer flew off again to get Rachel a worm. Rachel had the loudest ‘cheep’ and she was forever cheeping. But when Singer came back with Rachel’s worm, Rachel calmed down.

Soon Singer had given each chick a worm. The chicks were playing tag, and even Singer and Silvia joined in. It was such fun! “Tag, you’re it!” yelled Beauty to Curtsey. Curtsey started chasing Tipsy. Tipsy was quick and Curtsey gave up on chasing her. Curtsey chased Buttery instead and when Curtsey caught Buttery, she cried, “You’re it!” and Buttery flew after Greedy, who was delighted to get some exercise. After that, all the chicks scurried across to a great oak tree, to get some rest. Silvia smiled. Having chicks was so much fun!

“Children, what would you like for lunch?” asked Silvia, at twelve’ o’clock.

“A great big juicy beetle!” all the children cried.
