More Positive Economic News - 2011 Export Records

Bulgaria's economy .. and international economic relations .. has been boosted by record export figures for the first half of 2011

In the period January to June 2011, Bulgarian exports to non-EU countries exceeded BGN 7.2 billion in value, which is an increase of 35.5% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the same period, exports to EU countries increased by 48.7% and amounted to an overall value of BGN 9.6 billion. In total, exports for the half year to June 2011 were valued at BGN 18.8 billion, representing an increase of 40.3% over the equivalent period for 2010

The data was released by the National Statistics Institute (NSI) on Tuesday 9th August.

Continuing the positive economic news, NSI also announced that the average monthly wages and salaries of Bulgarian employees under employment contracts in April, May and June 2011 were BGN 690, 698 and 711 respectively. This represents an average increase of 9%.
