Artist Row

The 7th Annual Artist Row Public Market Art Fair, a juried art show and celebration of art and community, will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2011, 10 am – 4 pm at the Rochester Public Market, 280 N. Union Street.

This year’s Artist Row will again feature over 180 local artists and artisans, as well as live music. Everyone’s favorite market vendors will also be open for food and beverages. Last year’s Artist Row, which featured 183 artists and artisans, drew over 10,000 in attendance according to crowd estimates from the City of Rochester.

Admission and parking are free.

This year the YMCA will set up, organize and supervise the kid’s creative area on site at the event. The designated area will have sidewalk chalk drawing, kid’s billboard creations, creative music area, awards, prizes, children’s music and fun..

“When we began Artist Row in 2005,” states Mary Lou Lawson, President,  Friends of the Public Market, “we saw the Public Market as our community’s natural gathering place — and the first venue to feature local emerging artists. Every year Artist Row has grown, drawing a larger and more diverse following.”

Lawson adds, “Artist Row has become a favorite in the community, as well as artists, who tell us they enjoy very brisk sales throughout the day long event. It is a great way to cap off the Rochester summer festival season.”

Proceeds support the Friends of the Public Market’s Market Token Program, Veggie Valet. Market Trolley and other efforts to promote and support the Rochester Public Market.

  1. Hi, I attended Saturday’s Artist’s row at Public Market and got some adorable earrings from one of the vendors…but I never got her card. I’m looking for a list of the vendors who were selling jewelry so I can find her again. Can you help me with this?
