After a long visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), I’ve decided to post some pictures here of famous works of art by painters like Picasso, Dali, Magritte and others that I like. Most of the following are oil on canvas paintings. Some of these may be rare paintings perhaps overshadowed by their more known masterpieces.

Rene Magritte (1898 – 1967)

Salvador Dali (1904 – 1989)
The accomodations of desire, 1929
Salvador Dali (1904 – 1989)

Yes, I pretty much like all the Picasso, Dali and Magritte they had in the MET. These paintings are classics of modern art!
I’ll have some more famous modern art, coming soon!
Anybody have more pics of famous modern art from the MET?
If you are New York you should really visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. You can spend almost a day there and enjoy the great art.
Love them all.Hoping to go there in October, can’t wait.
Excellent post.
i have a painting that was sold to me cheap. this painting grew alot of attention. i was wondering if you can tell me if this painting is a real or fake.
After doing some research you might want to check the modern artist Georges Yatrides. His reputation has been slowly growing in the Franco-American art market. His paintings are graphically amazing and he has been compared to Picasso in regards of his talent.
I like Symbolist and Pre-Raphaelite art best but your selections above were interesting
I recommend this great book on modern art : The Painted Word by Tom Wolfe
