The Knowledge Resources Team, based at Aspect House, delivers library and information services to primary care staff working for NHS Nottingham City and the southern part of NHS Nottinghamshire County incorporating the former PCTs of Rushcliffe, Broxtowe & Hucknall and Gedling.
The Knowledge Resources department is part of the Health Equality Directorate (Public Health) within NHS Nottingham City. Our main base is the Resource Centre at Aspect House in Bulwell, a multi-media library covering a wide range of health topics, such as CHD, health promotion, public health and teenage pregnancy. Our stock is available for loan to primary care staff and other professionals with a health remit (including teachers, youth, social and voluntary sector workers, as well as higher education students on health-related courses) who live or work in the Greater Nottingham area. Other additional services, such as information skills training (literature searching, critical appraisal etc), enquiry services and inter-library loans, are available to PCT and general practice staff only. PCT staff based in the north of the county should contact the Knowledge and Resource Centre based at Ransom Hall on 01623 673694 / 673696 or 673693 (extensions 43694, 43696 or 43693).
The Aspect House Resource Centre is also the local agency for the Greater Nottingham area to supply (in bulk) health promotion leaflets from various national suppliers including the Food Standards Agency, Department of Health and the fpa. An online ordering service for leaflet supplies across the Greater Nottingham area is available – see Leaflet Ordering Database in left-hand menu. Clients will need to be registered with the Resource Centre and have a membership number and password.
