I can now fully understand why Madam Rawlings, you chose to become national executive member of the NDC, having read the Press statement one will beginning to think after changing the dynamics NDC by winning a position have also created a conquerable problem. One hope the 31st December Women’s Movement (DWM) will continue to grow from strength to strength maintain unabated work that help to put NDC back into government.

Dear Mrs Rawlings
Congratulations on your appointment as Vice Chairman. I think the work you’ve done for women in Ghana has been outstanding and inspirational. I’ve admired you from a far for many years. Many years ago whilst working at the Ghana High Commission I joined the 31st DWM. I have a career in the arts and I’m in the process of attaining a masters in Education, Gender and International development. I am currently working for an organisation in the US touring contemporary art exhibitions worldwide to raise awareness on critical issues such as climate change and gender based violence. I am in the process of project managing an exhibition to Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal in 2010 – 2011 to raise awareness on violence against women and we are looking for partners in the region to collaborate with us on this socially important issue. We hope to engage with UN and government agencies and women’s group in the region. This exhibition aims to raise the profile of women in the region through the arts. We hope involve women in the exhibition and will distribute cameras within communities to enable women to document their daily lives. This will promote inter-regional dialogue and debate between women on gender based violence. Please let me know whether the 31DWM would be interested in being involved in this project. It would be wonderful if we could also encourage other prominent women in the region to get involved. I would be very grateful for your input and any support you can offer – no matter how small.
