Remarks

For 16 years Nimrod was based around the Solent, cruising Europe extensively including the Round Britain Rally and a trip to Spitsbergen. No expense was spared on her upkeep and she spent nearly all her winters ashore under a full cover or inside the shipyards shed.

In 1998 the owners decided that 8ft draft was limiting in local waters and, on advice from S&S and others, Collins and Henry Irons were engaged to reduce draft resulting in the current winged keel.

Nimrod changed hands for the first time in 2003 to owners seeking a boat to cruise and live aboard for 2 years. Nimrod left England in August 2004 cruising Spain, Portugal and Madeira before taking part in ARC 2004. She finished 26th overall and 3rd in class. She then spent the 2004 / 05 season in the Caribbean, from the Grenadines to the BVIs, returning via Bermuda and the Azores.  Nimrod then entered the Med and spent the past winter ashore in Malta. She will return to the UK in August 2006.

Nimrod is a fast, reliable passage maker as her two transatlantic voyages have proved. She is equipped to a very high standard and is easily sailed short handed. She is an attractive and comfortable live-aboard blue water cruiser now looking for her next adventure.
