Fashion Mentors

Do you know of something you could contribute to NIF?

An experience (Career, Intern, Academic), a tip you once heard, a great resource you have found that has something to do with getting into the fashion industry? If you thought yes to any of the above (or if you have another idea to share), please send an email to jacobs (dot) shelby @ gmail (dotcom) right away! Make sure to add “Wanted: NIF Contributor Info” in the subject.

That’s it.

That is the first simple simon step of maybe a total of three steps.

Email me, we’ll talk back & forth for a minute to figure out exactly what you can add to the site, and then BAM, you will be an NIF Fashion Mentor.

Okay I’m done with that rant.

ONLY THE BEST,

xxox Shelby from NIF

p.s. if you have racked your brains and are sure there is NOTHING, NOTHING you can help me with… send me an email anyways, I’m sure I can think of something. But if you can’t even send an email, share this post with anyone that may have something to contribute.

Questions? Have something to share?

  1. Wanted to say thank you for your very sweet comment on my blog! I’ll cross my fingers for you that you’ll get your foot in the door soon and make your way into the fashion industry. Your blog is already the first step, actually. Are you on twitter by the way? Many greetings from Dubai, Kazuko! 😀

  2. I’m a student studying fashion illustration and merchandising at Virginia Marti College of Art and Design in Cleveland, Ohio. While Cleveland is not hailed as a fashion city, we have a lot of fantastic designers and professionals in the area. I am the President of the VMCAD Fashion Guild, which is a student run organization for fashion design and merchandising students. We attend local fashion events and network with professionals in our area. You should most definitely check out our website, we are doing some amazing things!

  4. I am a designer. Have finished my first collection. It has been a great success. People and buyers have gone crazy with this red heart handle and I have no time at all to realize what has happened. I am happy! I love opening dialogues and sharing experiences!

  6. I am a fashion design student at the High School of Fashion Industries, which is in the center of the fashion district in NYC. Our school provides young and dedicated people that want to be in the fashion business. There are three majors: fashion design, merchandising/marketing, and art. Although we are young, we are ambitious. There is an annual fashion show that rounds up the work of graduates and fellow classmates.
