September is National Pain Awareness Month

Recently, the National Resource Directory (NRD) alerted us that September is National Pain Awareness Month and that it is sponsored by the National Pain Foundation (NPF). Injury and/or disease can cause chronic pain and it can stem from such chronic, multi-sypmtom illnesses as fibromyalgia, multiple slerosis, and other conditions. Visit NPF’s website for information on chronic pain and to connect to support online and in your area.

NRD is a central resource for information, services, and support for veterans with disabilities, their families, and their supporters. Their resources include this page on chronic pain. We encourage you to explore their collection at www.nationalresourcedirectory.gov or call the Wounded Warrior Center at 800/342-9647.
