14 October 2009

Have just arrived back from Plandampf Polska, and what a fantastic time it was. Things never quite run as expected in Poland, and this only added to the interest over the week. Highlights had to be Tr5-65 hauling 720 tonnes of cement up to the works at Powodowo, and having the privilege to footplate Tr5-65 a run to Poznan on the Saturday. Photos (and more details) will follow as soon as Royal Mail sorts out its current difficulties!

A bit of a delay between updates, however I have now managed to add a whole host of photos from the 2007 Parade at Wolsztyn. These include the rerailing of Pt47-112 after the pony truck derailed whilst travelling across the turntable.

News in the Polish press today is that Pm36-2, Piekna Helena, will be back on the rails in the autumn.

The loco has been in works in Leszno since the Pirat train to Kolobrzeg in May last year.

Also in works in Leszno are Ol49-111 and Ol49-69. Ol49-111 has been stripped to the frames. The photos below show various elements of the loco in works back in March 2009.
