What is your real fitness age? Do you know? Would you like to know?

A few weeks ago one of my clients asked me what tests someone should do to find out how fit he was and what exactly he should be focusing on.

With age we will all naturally lose our strength, flexibility and aerobic conditioning. The point is from what point you will start losing it and with a good training programme you can reduce the efects of age quite significantly. There are many people on their 70’s who are a lot younger than some teenagers (some of you probably watched the series “Are You Fitter Than a Pensioner”).

Measuring your fitness age gives you a good idea of your general fitness condition in terms of strength, flexibility and aerobic conditioning which have direct affect on your general health (physical, mental and social).  Having a score is also useful as you can use it as a benchmark to check your training progress.

It’s not uncommon for me to find people with a fitness age twice (sometimes three times) older than their real age. But you can reverse it, sometimes  even have a fitness age lower than your real age (yes, it’s possible!) So let’s find out your real age now! <====
