Trips to Antarctica are not to be passed up! When Doug Stoup invited me to try skiing Mt. Francais on Anvers Island with him, it was an easy choice to make. "OK. When?"

As is often the case with Antarctica, it's the things that happen in between your main goal that makes the trip extraordinary. The people you meet down there, the travel, the weather and the scenery are beyond compare. This trip was to the Antarctic peninsula, which was like camping in a zoo. We had whales spouting outside of our tent as well as penguins, skuas and albatross galore!
