About Polder Health Care

 

Background

 

Polder Health Care was established in 1989. The manager is qualified to practice as Registered Mental Health nurse with long-standing of experiences in both the Independent and Statutory health and Social care sectors.  In addition to working in a consultancy capacity for the voluntary sector and has a broad base of therapeutic experience including community and mental health practice.

The continuing aim of Polder Health Care is to provide a professional and efficient service to meet all of the requirements of its service users,  whilst obtaining the highest possible level of satisfaction for service users, relatives and health professionals.

 

Staff

Polder Health Care places a strong emphasis on providing the highest quality service to all residents, utilising trained and dedicated staff and was the first residential home in the North West to achieve Investors in People status in  and continues to value maintaining the Silver Award.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC)

Highlight the importance and value of strong and comprehensive induction for staff in their Essential Standards and require to be assured that all staff have undergone thorough training and development. Polder Health Care ensure that:

  • New staff undertake Care certificate training during their early stages of employment.

  • All staff are required to undertake NVQ/QCS training in Health and Social Care within the first year of employment, senior staff are encouraged to develop and hone their skills within the environment that they are employed.

  • CPD accredited electronic training courses are made available for further development within Polder Health Care's speciality Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health Act and the Capacity Act.

  • Line managers are required to take leadership, Human Resources, Health & Safety and Management training.
     

The Environment 

Polder Health Care is committed to improving the environment and reducing the carbon foot print of the company. With this is mind, substantial investment has taken place, including:

  • Personalised electronic entry system

  • Double glazed windows and doors

  • Installation of double glazed conservatories

  • Provision of a double glazed designated smoking area to comply with Smoke Free England (2007) legislation

  • Recent heating boiler replacement to a more environmentally efficient system

  • Commitment to 'paperless working'

  • eMAR
