Tour PPL’s Lake Wallenpaupack hydroelectric dam

Explore how renewable energy has been used in PPL’s past, present and future during a tour of the hydroelectric facilities at 3 or 6 p.m. Friday, July 10, or Saturday, July 11 at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. at PPL’s Lake Wallenpaupack Environmental Education Center.

Learn about the increase in energy demand since Lake Wallenpaupack began operating as a hydroelectric plant in the 1920s and discover what you can do to conserve this valuable resource. PPL’s e-power team will be on hand to demonstrate the online Energy Analyzer, which can help you save money on your electric bill. Head out on a tour of the dam and board a bus to tour the power plant along the Lackawaxen River. While on the bus, enjoy a discussion on the history of Lake Wallenpaupack and how the plant generates clean, renewable energy.
