Clay & Period Tile Sealer

Renotex clay & period tile sealer, RENO DRY 2R is a heavy duty water repellent clear sealer, a further advancement on RENO DRY with 2 extra weatherproof resins added. Ideal for older buildings, where a stabilised bonded and sealed breathable surface is required. Suitable for roofs of older buildings: especially formulated to preserve the original look of clay tiles or period tiles such as Yorkshire stone and slate on listed building roofs.

Advantages of our clay & period tile seal:

• Reduces spalling or flaking.
• Ideal for tiles that have become porous and flaky.
• Has a low surface tension, making it very invasive so enabling it to penetrate well into the surface up to a depth of 1.5mm to 3mm.
• Acid and alkaline resistant and is unaffected by salt spray.
• Eliminates spots, stains and streaks due to moisture penetration of soot, grime or weather conditions.
• Does not change the breathing characteristics (circulation of air through the tiles).

How to use the clay & period tile sealer:

Depending on the porosity and profile of the surfaces, coverage for 2 coats is up to 2 sqm / litre.

1. Remove flaky and loose material, moss, lichen etc using high pressure washer.
2. Repair the roof structural points such as ridges, hips, gullies and gables and replace any faulty lead work. Replace any broken or damaged tiles.
3. Apply RENO ANTICIDE to kill all moss, lichen spores and allow to dry - application is up to 5 sq m per litre.
4. Apply in 2 coats by low pressure spray, brush or roller, applying sufficient material to allow a run down of 150mm to 300mm depending on the density of the surface.

RENO DRY 2R can be applied at any temperature, dries within hours and becomes fully effective within 24 hours. Unaffected by rain after 1 hour.
