Actress and designer Neelam Kathari and Sameer Soni have tied a knot of marriage on January23, 2011 at Taj Land’s end, Bandra, Mumbai. Interesting thing is that the couple invited their all guest through text messages instead of formal wedding cards.
Upon asking about the reason, Neelam explained,” We didn’t get any wedding cards printed…thank god! We had no time to get cards done. Initially we planned to invite only 35 people – that list finally went up to 200. We just SMSed all our close friends. Everyone who mattered to us was at the wedding”
Moreover she said that they didn’t have time to get the cards printed and couriering them. Interestingly almost all invitees were there to attend their wedding.
Guests who attended the party included the entire Kapoor family, Rani Mukherjee, Juhi Chawla, Ashwariya Rai, Jeetendara family, Raveena Tandon, Farah Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Amrita Arora, Sanjay Suri, Sophie Chowdhary and Rahul Roy were also present. Neelam and Sameer’s closest friends Karan Johar and Hrithik Roshan couldn’t attend the wedding since they were commited to appear on a Fashion show.
We waited for a long to time to get married. We really had great time to know each other. And I think the major change which I am going to feel after marriage is that I have shifted from my own home to Samir’s place in Seven Bungalows”, said Neelam, 42.
The couple has to put their honey moon off since they both have their own works to take care off but they are moving to Shirdi to seek God’s blessings.
They both have been married previously, Neelam to Rishi Sethia and Sameer to Rajilakshmi Khanvilkar, who’s now married to Rahul Roy.
