A few people have been asking me for an independence day skit. And sadly, I didn’t have one written at the moment. However, I have a skit idea that could be useful.
1. Download, print Nehru’s “Tryst with destiny” speech.
2. Edit it (ie. don’t read the whole thing but only certain sections).
3. Use a narrator to read it.
4. Have a heckler audience (people who make smart alec remarks about the speech). Like when Nehru says “India awakes”. Someone can say, but the government has gone to sleep. etc etc.
5. Then after the speech is read, make a comment about whether we have lost the optimism of Nehru, and whether we should regain it for our nation. ie. you can end the skit with the question, are the ideas of Nehru irrelevant or still relevant for us today. ie. do we need to capture that optimism of the new India?

if your looking for the skit about the Indian Independence history then I think you better show about the 1st war of independence in 1857 and then about the 2nd war in 1947 and what happened after the independence .
