Islamophobic hysteria is spreading all over Europe. Europeans are forgetting what happened less than 7 decades ago. First came Oslo and than the Belgian ban on burqa the following day. Berlusconi’s régime shows once again that it is an enemy of human rights – after the horrific anti-Roma policies quite comparable to that of Nazi Germany, Italian government is implementing another flagrant violation of human rights, blatantly breaching freedom of religion. We have to stop this madness, we have to unite against new fascism. Islamophobia, along with antiziganism, is omnipresent in Europe, and taking into account one of the worst crises in human history, this new danger may be far greater than that in the 1930s. We have to realise what can happen if we don’t act. As Wilders himself once pointed out – “silence is treason.”
