- What sizes do you build?
- Our sheds are normally built in 2 foot increments from a 6x8 on up, but we can build most any size to fit your needs. Our biggest sheds are the 10x12 and 8x15 . We very rarely build anything over a 10x12 or 8x15. But you are more than welcome to call us with your request and we'll let you know what we can do.

- Do I need a permit to build my shed?
- Most cities allow you to build a building up to 120 sq. ft (10x12 or 8x15). (NOTE: IT IS THE HOMEOWNERS RESPONSIBILITY TO CLARIFY ANY CODE QUESTIONS WITH THEIR CITY!)
- Do your sheds come with a warranty?
- If we built your shed, we guarantee the craftsmanship of that shed. Our builders do their best to build each shed the best they can. If you feel there is a problem with your shed, please give us a call.
We do not guarantee any KITS. The shed material is guaranteed to the extent of the materials manufacture.
We expect you to use some common sense. If the wood weathers and rots because you didn't paint or stain it, whose fault is it? If you had a concrete pad poured wrong and now water comes in or the doors don't work the way they should, who's responsible? If you didn't bother checking city codes and now you have to move your shed from your fence, was that our fault? Use some common sense before, during, and after the shed is built and you shouldn't have to worry about any warranty issues.
- Do I need to do anything to prepare the site?
- Your site will need to be within 6" to 8" of being level. Many people put the shed right on the ground which may cause your shed to sink and become unlevel over time. I suggest preparing a base of some kind to give your shed good support. I think that the best compromise between a good base and not too much work is using landscape fabric and decorative rock (like around your house). Another good option is to buy patio stones. The best possible base is concrete (which is required by some cities), but rises costs significantly. If no leveling material is provided, we will use whatever material we have to do the job.
- Should I put felt paper on or not?
- To be quite honest, we feel that felt paper is a waste of your money and our time. The reason that carpenters put felt paper down is because most roofs take a couple of day to shingle. The felt paper keeps the roof dry from moisture until it's all been shingled. People tell us that they want felt paper down in case wind blows shingles off to keep the roof from leaking. But believe me, if you have a storm that takes your roof off, you'll have a lot more to worry about than if you have felt paper down or not.
- How do I pay you?
- We gladly take cash or personal check. By popular demand, we will now accept credit cards.
- Can you put on different shingles than what you display?
- Yes we can. We carry a variety of the more popular shingle colors, but if you want a special color than what we offer, either you can pick them up and we'll deduct the price from the shed, or we can pick them up for you. If we pickup the shingles for you, you will be charged an extra $35 dollars for our time to get them, plus the difference in price.
We only put on 3 tab shingles. We do not put on laminated (i.e. Timberline) or any other special type of shingles. Only 3 tab. If you want a special type of shingle other than 3 tab, either you will need to put them on, or arrange it with the carpenter.
- What do I do if I plan on putting on vinyl or cedar siding?
- Our sheds normally come with a 5/8th inch pine siding, but if you plan on putting on vinyl or some other type of siding, we can put on OSB siding. OSB (chip board) is a little cheaper and better for vinyl siding. Just let us know when ordering that you plan on putting up your own siding.
- Do you build custom sheds?
- Yes. We have many different options to choose from to modify our existing models, or build from scratch a specific design. Special sheds cost considerably more and usually take longer to have built. Call us for an estimate. Visit our OPTIONS PAGE to see the different options that can be added to our existing sheds.
- Should I paint or stain my shed?
- Quite frankly, we don't know and don't care. Both are effective. It really depends on what type of look you are trying to get from you shed. Plus, we are carpenters, not painters. Call a painter to get his opinion on which are better.
- Should I buy a Kit or have you build it?
- This really is a personal question you must answer yourself. Our kits are not difficult to assemble, you don't need to be a master carpenter. But they do require some basic carpentry skills, some tools, ability to read instructions, and common sense. If you lack any of these, you may want us to build it for you.
- What comes with your kits?
- Redi-Bilt kits come with everything you need but paint, and one person can manage every peice. All floor, siding and roof plywood is pre-cut. The walls are pre-framed. The roof is pre-framed and comes in two halves. The corner trim is pre-cut, the doors are pre-assembled and ready to hang. All nails, hardware, shingles, and delivery (within metro area), are included in the kit.
- What tools do I need to build a kit?
- KITS are fairly easy to assemble. Most pieces are pre-cut or pre-framed together. You will need a hammer, handsaw, and level. Any extra tools you may have, such as a SKIL SAW, will help you and make your job much easier.
- My KIT isn't going the way I had planned. What do I do?
- There are 3 very important things you can do to make sure you have success in putting up your KIT and answering any questions you may have.

- While putting the KIT together, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
- If you run into a problem or have a question, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.
If all else fails, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, then give us a call. We've had people, who you'd never think be able to put a kit together, not have any problems or call once. If they can do it, I know you can too!
