Self Build Course - Construction Technology (Part 1)

I attended Module 5 of this course today, at the National Self Build and Renovation Centre, Swindon.

This is a really good module of the course, as it gives some useful perspective on the hands-on side of things.

The course started off in the usual presentation format but then moved into some practical sessions, allowing us to try out some core build skills.

The first practical session, was brick laying. We were given an impressive demonstration of how it is done (at Swindon College) which made it look easy. But then we all had a chance to have a go ourselves - we soon realised it's actually a lot harder than it looks. Check out the photo of my first brick wall!

Hello, just found your site. Looks really good. I like the modern look you have with the open plan design. The chalet I am building is open plan too.
Keep it up I will be sure to come back and check up on your progress.

Cheers

Richard
