Mac Moisturelush Eye Cream vs. Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream

Monday, April 13, 2009

I was on a search for a good moisturizing eye cream because I was tired of paying $30 dollars for something that doesn't work as well. So after finding the right eye cream, for a reasonable price compared to what i've been paying, here are my opinions and reviews on it.

MAC MOISTURELUSH EYE CREAM

Price: $30.00
Size: 0.5 oz
Product: 3 out of 5
Packaging: 3 out of 5
Overall rating: 2 out of 5

411: A richly hydrating eye cream with optical effects. Rejuvenates, reconditions and refreshes. Visibly lifts and firms skin around the eyes: helps reduce early morning/late night puffiness and balance the skin’s moisture levels. Provides long-lasting moisture. -maccosmetics.com

My story: I've been using this product a little over 9 months now, but I didnt really start using it until december of last year. My first jar of it, i rarely used it, only if my lids were getting dry and would start to peel due to experimenting with eyeshadows and wiping it off and trying a different style afterwards. Then, I started using this acne medicine, which is benzoyl peroxide, and it has made my lids extremely dry and flakey, especially after the shower. I was getting really irritated by this and this is when i started using up my first jar very quickly. I got a 2nd jar in january and i'm almost running out. I didnt want to buy another because it was getting too pricey and it didn't moisturize my lids as much as I wanted it to.

Pros:
- Moisturizes skin that is moderately dry.
- Can last about 4 months depending on how often you use it. I use it morning and night..

Cons:
- Very pricey!
- No SPF
- Doesn't moisturize completely, meaning it works for a good few hours and starts to get dry again.
- Comes in a jar

Would I buy it again? Probably not.

My Story: I was on a search for a good eye cream that can moisturize the skin around my eyes and I wanted to find something with a reasonable price. So I went to target a few days ago and ran across this neutrogena eye cream. I was reading the info about it and decided to try it. With it being more than half the price of the Mac eye cream, I figured what is there to lose. I tried, it, and immediately it made my eyes moisturized without leaving a glossy oily finish like what the MAC EYE CREAM does. Also, on top of that it claims that it reduces the fine lines around it.

Pros:
- Moisturizes around the eye
- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
- Comes in a tube that can squeeze out the product w/out contamination
- Reasonable price

Cons:
- No SPF
- Wished the price can be a bit cheaper

Would I buy it again? MOST DEFINITELY!!
