Christina Aguilera’s Style: “Burlesque” Premiere & Getting Her Star on the Walk of Fame, 15/11/10

Yesterday was one of the most important days in Christina Aguilera’s life and career: in the space of some hours, she received her much-deserved star [1] on the Walk of Fame, in Hollywood, and attended the premiere of her first movie, Burlesque, directed by Steve Antin. Though extremely happy for her, I am a bit confused by what happened in the last months: first the Bionic failed launch, then the split-up news, now all these amazing events. Recently she’s been through a lot, but I’m sure she’s back on track to get what she deserves.

I didn’t have high expectations for her premiere outfit, because I think she still has to find her own voice in style, but her choice left me speechless. She looked amazing and – what is most important – happy.

Christina is known for her racy outfits, but I totally agree with her decision to wear such an understated dress, according to her standards.

She wore a beautiful Elie Saab emerald chiffon dress, with strapless draped bodice and a small train on the back. It’s refreshing to see her embrace this “ethereal” style. I don’t think she totally owns it, because she perfectly masters the 50s/pin-up style better, but I love when she experiments with fashion.

In this picture, she was arriving at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, where the premiere was held. Isn’t she so beautiful here? You can also get a glimpse of her wonderful satin shoes.

As you may know, Christina is a devoted fan of Christian Louboutin, who also designed the custom shoes she wore in the movie. This is not the first time she wore these Eugenie pumps, but I totally get why she has been wearing them multiple times: they’re gorgeous! I love the diamantè platforms and heels, such a nice detail! Silver or embellished strappy sandals would have been a good choice, too, but these are perfect.

Christina has always been harshly criticized for her style and make-up. Sometimes she has actually worn too much make-up, but this time she is irreproachable, because her make-up was flawless: she wore her trademark red lipstick (it looks like she wore a slightly muted shade, this time) and sported amazing smokey eyes. Her hairstyle is quite peculiar, too: she has finally jumped on the Snooki pouf wagon, but she obviously sported a much more refined and glamourous version of this 60s-ispired style.

I’m quite surprised she didn’t wear Stephen Webster jewellery; she wore Neil Lane diamond jewels instead. She picked Art Deco pieces, including an oval ring with diamond and onyx, three diamond band bracelets, a platinum and onyx bracelet and tiny pendant earrings.

She also wore this stunning diamond ring. I wonder how many carats the ring counts…

The premiere was followed by an after-party, held at the W Hotel in Hollywood.

Christina wore a nice black short dress, with sheer bodice and full skirt, and accessorized it with an Azzedine Alaïa studded belt and Christian Louboutin Madame Butterfly satin peep-toe pumps. Love this girly look on her.

It’s good to see her smile: in this picture, she was posing with her beau in Burlesque, Cam Gigandet. For the party, she wore mixed diamond necklaces, ditched the pouf and sported messy hair.

From the picture above, where she was posing with the director Steve Antin and her co-star Cher, we can see she also wore a snake-shaped ring.

Earlier that day, she attended the induction ceremony on the Walk of Fame. I think you’ll agree with me in saying this is really a big achievement for a celebrity who has worked hard all her life to pursue her dreams.

When I first saw the pictures, I was disappointed by her outfit, but I’ve never been a fan of blondes dressed in white. She should have worn something different and less informal, like a fitted black suit or something like that. She wore a Christian Dior white gathered dress, which is cute but not proper for such an important event. She also wore Neil Lane jewellery, including a cross pendant.

What I really like are her high-heeled pumps, another creation by Christian Louboutin, the Miss Clichy leopard pumps, so sexy! The pic above is hilarious, because the girl on the right wore the same shoes as Christina’s, with a different animalier pattern.

I love these shoes so much! I hope you’ll enjoy this great close-up, where she’s posing next to her star.

Awww, so cute! Christina looked like a pin-up here, so radiant. Do you agree with me?

[1] Her star is next to Greta Garbo’s. Exciting!
