Pale Ale, 4.1%
Served at The Eagle and Child, Oxford.
Comments: A very aromatic beer, with plenty of aroma hopping but without overwhelming bitterness. Apparently this is brewed with a specialist American hop. Lemon and other citrus flavours dominate, fairly little malt, but still quite sweet. A very floral beer, brilliant on a hot day, but probably not a staple.
Overall score: 7.0/10
If it is brewed with American hops doesn’t that make it an American Pale Ale rather than an India Pale Ale? I know this is a distinction that USian craft brewers make, but it seems common in Oz now too.
