Burning prohibition in effect

Effective Friday, May 17, 2024, Category 2 and Category 3 open burning are prohibited. Burn Barrels are also prohibited. Campfires (0.5m in diameter and 0.5m high) are still allowed. Gabriola’s latest centenarian, Isobel Quinn, celebrated her 100th birthday this past week – with family and friends gathering together for the celebration. Diane Eisler, Darlene MacLean, and Constable Mark Biggar of the Gabriola RCMP stopped in to her home on Gabriola to wish her a Happy Birthday. Quinn was born in Strathhaven Scotland, and moved to Gabriola in 1980. Derek Kilbourn
