ABOUT  SUE

It’s been over 30 years since I started in the food industry as a home economist and I am as passionate now as I was then about preparing and producing the highest quality food.

 

In that time I have worked some of the brightest names in the industry across every discipline from cooking at intimate dinner parties to presenting on national television.

 

I now specialise as a food stylist, recipe tester and cookery demonstrator and I very much look forward to working with you to help bring your food project to life.

Biography

After qualifying as a home economist, Sue spent two years cooking for Lord Seafield in Banffshire at an exclusive sporting club. She regularly cooked grouse, partridge, teal, pheasant, salmon, lobster, venison, and, although few people have cooked it, capercaillie.

 

Sue then cooked privately, mostly in Scotland but ranged from Stornoway to over the border into Cumbria with the work varying from small dinner parties and shooting weekends to cooking for weddings of 600 guests. Sue cooked for the Duke of Edinburgh, Sir Alec Douglas Home and Lord Whitelaw.

 

Sue was a television presenter on The Food Programme for BBC Scotland along with Jan Leeming, Derek Cooper and Donny Macleod. Sue’s role involved location filming on all aspects of the food business followed by narrating the pieces back in the studio.

 

Sue was the cookery writer for the Scottish Field for two years, which involved writing the cookery page each month and then styling the food to be photographed. She also worked on a Robert Burns commemorative stamp for the Post Office.

 

As a freelance home economist, Sue has worked across the whole spectrum of the food industry, including writing for A La Carte Magazine, testing recipes for Dorling Kindersley and food styling for the latest series of Netflix's The Crown. Sue's experience as a cookery demonstrator ranges from launching Loyd Grossman's sauces to demonstrating premium ovens from Bosch, Siemens and Neff both in the showroom and at home for select clients.
