Take a tour of our cutting and polishing equipment

Our workshop facility includes a well stocked library of books and magazines, all available to the members.

The Library

Our workshop facility is equipped with the most easy to use and up to date diamond lapidary equipment.
Below is a selection of images showing the machinery we have at our disposal for the making of polished cabochons etc.
All members will be encouraged to use the equipment if they wish to and full training and help will be on hand.


The equipment

The Large 14" Rock Saw
For cutting large rock specimens, slabbing and base cutting.


10" Slabbing Saw - For general sawing of rock samples to slices etc.

 Polished "Potato Stone", Somerset.         

 

8" Trim Saw - For general sawing of rock samples to slices etc.

                    Polished Onyx Marble 

 

The Machine Work Bench
Fitted out with assorted grinding and polishing machines for finishing cabochons etc.

 

Grinding Wheels - For grinding and preforming to shape.

  Polished Agate                                  

 

Combination Grinding and Sanding Wheels for shaping prior to polishing.

                   Polished "Blue Lace" Agate

 

Diamond Belts - For very fine grinding and polishing

 

Leather Polishing Wheel - For producing that final high Polish.

Felt Polishing Wheel - For producing that final high Polish.
