Clancy is not necessarily what we wanted from Twenty One Pilots, but by fully subverting our expectations and throwing us into a whole new style and sound, they have managed to re-spark the fire that Trench burned into our hearts. Alright I have taken my time with this one. I think it is fine. I have some issues with the project overall, but I think it works alright. It is a type of album I just am simply not a big fan of. Something that takes full solace in serenity at the cost of saying or meaning anything. Basically it feels like an elevated moody early 20's sad girl project. It seems to be inspired by acts life Laufey but it improves by having Finneas save this thing by making it work stylistically.
