BUS SERVICE FOR BLACK ISLE

23 January 2011

Transition Black Isle is organising a petition asking for a regular, daily bus service to Dingwall from various parts of the Black isle.  The petition is now available in local Post Offices - please go along and sign.

Come the spring Stagecoach will be running a bus from Cromarty to Dingwall so locals will be able to commute to work in Dingwall from Cromarty and the north side of the Black isle without having to take a car. There will be a return service from Dingwall to Cromarty after 5pm, and also one around lunchtime for those wishing to spend a morning or afternoon in Dingwall. The route will be along the north side of the Black Isle via Jemimaville, Balblair and Culbokie.

If you have not already done so, its still important for you to sign the petition because both Stagecoach and Highland Council Transport will be using the petition to inform their planning processes.

As soon as a start date has been finalised and timetables become available, these will be posted on the TBI website.

We are part of the rapidly expanding worldwide Transition Towns movement. The Black Isle is a peninsula of about 100 sq miles ENE of Inverness in Scotland, UK.
