Teacher training services

I regularly provide 1 hour, 1.5 hour, 2 hour, half day and full day training sessions on various aspects of authentic listening, including:

The need to supplement coursebook listening texts

The features of spoken English which make listening so challenging for our students

English as a Lingua Franca and its implications for the design of listening materials

Selecting and grading appropriate authentic listening materials
Listening comprehension v. listening training
Guidance on writing exercises to accompany authentic listening texts

These talks are accompanied by a selection of recordings from my huge collection, illustrating the various points I make.

The fee varies according to the length of the session and the number of participants. Please contact me directly with your requirements and we can arrange a suitable fee.
