About me

Ok, not really sure why i started this blog but i am loving doing it! I guess if i think about it i am often asked where i got things, or to give people ideas for presents, and doing this blog is a way of sharing my finds!

As a little girl my parents would drop me off at the junk shop at the end of the road with 20p pocket money and go off shopping. Don’t worry, they did come back for me! I would spend hours rummaging through boxes of old clothes and trinkets! So i guess my love or obsession started young!

Generally the high street really pisses me off, its boring, generic, and totally lacks individuality. I don’t want to dress like everyone else and i think its so tragic that the streets are full of clones!

So i buy from car boots sale and antique fairs and markets, its the only way to maintain any individual style.

Whenever i have a present to get or a wedding gift to buy I go to one of the many antique fairs around the country. Why the fuck would you want to get something from the bloody John Lewis wedding list when you could buy an item with history, quality and personality. Yes it takes time, and effort, buts thats the pleasure when buying a present for someone. The last wedding gift i bought was a Georgian mantel clock, sterling silver butter dish from 1905 and a turn of the century glass and silver trinket pot! They went down a storm, because the couple knew the effort and thought that went into finding their gift!

I began my career the year after i left the London college of fashion having completing a BA in fashion management.

I started by buying vintage costume jewellery for Jigsaw and then created a company designing costume jewellery for men and women, bags and belts, imported from the far east and supplying the UK high street.

I have gone on to be a freelance vintage jewellery buyer for DCK ( Freedom jewellery ), Icon ( Oasis, French Connection ) and Accessorize buying from antique fairs to supply them with inspirational pieces.

I am in the process of designing a silver and gold range of jewellery that i hope to launch next year, its wont be cheep, but it will be the nuts!

I do hope you like the blog!
