On Tuesday, December 14, 2010 something interesting happened which essentially changed the rest of my week and has taken on a life of its own. I was tweeting with Michael McClure (@ProfessionalOne) and we both mentioned how we were looking at search terms that have driven traffic to our blogs.
Next thing you know… #P1blogerview was in full swing! Since then I have done 3 more of these blogerviews and I have one scheduled for Monday now. It’s funny how interacting with Michael McClure generally results in something amazing happening!
Well, here’s the recap of #P1blogerview – I hope you enjoy it:
First and foremost you can check out Michael’s blog at P1Fran.com
When did you first start blogging?
How many blog posts have you written?
I honestly don’t know. I write on 5 different blogs, so it’s hard to keep track. Ballpark, 100 this year.
What’s the craziest search term you’ve ever had bring someone to your blog?
Nirvana and Pearl Jam. I was SO proud of that! 🙂
Which blog post has had the most traffic for you?
Interview with @TechSavvyAgent
Which one was the most fun for you to write?
“Smells Like Tech Spirit” post.
Being the great blogger that you are today… what would you go back and tell the rookie blogger you were?
Nothing, really. It’s played out almost exactly as I thought it would. It’s all about the consistency and the marathon mentality. That’s a huge part of the process.
What is your favorite blog to read besides your own?
1000Watt, TechSavvyAgent, Jay Thompson
What’s the best blogging tip or trick you’ve ever received (not given)?
Several from @PhxREguy – Top Ten Thompson Takeaways
What’s the biggest mistake you see bloggers making?
THAT ONE IS EASY: NOT having someone proof for OBVIOUS typos & grammatical errors. Nothing ruins a blog quicker.
What direction or innovation do you see coming this next year to the blogosphere?
MORE VIDEO
What would you say to someone who is sitting on the sidelines and waiting to get into the blogoshpere?
Don’t do it unless you are in it for the LONG HAUL. As @PhxREguy said, it takes YEARS to build the traffic. YEARS. Yes, YEARS.
What is the most popular category and tag for your blog?
Branding, raise the bar, social media.
Where do you usually find the inspiration for your blogs?
My real inspiration for blogging traces back to @1000wattmarc. And it was THIS post of his: Real Estate Liposuction
Is there anything you avoid like the plague when blogging?
I don’t find it. It finds me. I just write about the things about which I have real passion. Improving real estate, namely. #RTB
How long does your typical blog take you to write?
Longer than I’d like 🙂
Alright… last question – what haven’t you blogged about yet, that you are dying to blog about?
I have 101 posts in draft mode. One of those, I am sure! 🙂 Thanks, Chris! That was very kind of you to ask me those questions. Now write a blog post about it! 🙂
