Political Support for Self Build/Custom Homes
In late 2010 Urban Self Build were asked by the Housing Minister Grant Shapps and the National Self Build Association (NaSBA) to help prepare an Action Plan to help the government promote self build housing in the UK. The resulting DCLG/NaSBA report can be viewed at here.
The strength of the action plan has already had direct consequences. Self build, and the need for custom housing was mentioned in the 2011 publication of the Government’s National Housing Strategy.
Urban Self Build have also become a member of the NaSBA Executive Committee.
