New foreign language movies (June 2011)

Over the past month, documentaries and movies in various languages have been recorded from SBS & ABC channels.

These programmes are available in the Self Study room (Rm 222, Brennan MacCallum building) should you wish to view them.

Arabic

Paradise Now

The story follows two close friends, Palestinians Said and Khaled, recruited by an extremist group for a suicide bombing in Tel Aviv. However, things go wrong and both friends must separate at the border. One of them maintains his purpose to carry on the attack to the end, while the other has growing doubts about it. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year in 2006.

They invite friends and family to their wedding, and the best man is none other than the ex-boyfriend.
