Some people consider the +2 Grey the last ‘real’ ZX Spectrum (+2A and +2B had compatibility issues). Others hate it since it was the first Sinclair made by Amstrad. I am part of the first camp: I think this is an awesome machine.
It was one of my childhood dreams to have this computer. In Brazil the ZX family stopped at the TK-95 (equivalent to Spectrum+) so to image a machine with 128Kb, built-in tape recorder and a good full-stroke keyboard was the dream of every fan.
As you can see in the picture, my ZX 2+ is in great shape. I did have to pay quite a bit to import it from England. I also had to get a customized video cable so I could connect it to my LCD TV via composite (people in Europe have the luxury of using SCART). The image is not perfect but it is a lot better than what I was getting from RF. I also had to buy a 220-110v adapter which I also use for all other European computers.
Update: Found a solution for my video problem! SCART to Component!
The built-in cassette player also gave me some work. I had to tweak the azimuth control for quite a while until I got most tapes to load. Well worth the price to play classics like Zorro!
Overall this is a great machine, well worth the money and the hassle.
